The newly launched AI fund was launched in Yorkshire with the promise of investing millions in the region.
The new Oberon Yorkshire AI EIS Fund was developed in conjunction with Yorkshire AI Labs LLP (YAIL) to place the region at the heart of the UK's AI revolution.
It targets AI-led companies in northern England, along with plans to leverage the local industrial heritage, a strong technology ecosystem and major research institutes.
Investment will focus on areas such as manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, and financial services where AI integration provides important economic and social benefits.
Yail, which is delivered collaboratively by the fund, is a specialized incubator that previously built and expanded the Yorkshire-based AI company.

The model combines sweat equity, capital and practical commercial strategies to create an investor-ready business from scratch.

Meanwhile, London-based Oberon is an investment management and corporate brokering business already involved in the £5 million IPO of Intelliam, the AI-centric company of Yorkshire Headquarge, owned by Yail.
“This is not just a fund, it's the next step in the already working blueprint,” he said. David Richards, founder of Yail.
“We have shown that we can build a nationally important AI company here in Yorkshire.
“The Oberon Fund allows us to adopt and scale that model, support more founders, accelerate more platforms, and create an ecosystem that the whole country is proud of.”
Paul Sheehan, investment director for Oberon Yorkshire AI EIS, added:
“In collaboration with Yail, we are given early access to a pipeline of highly potential growth companies that are strictly selected in the AI space.
“As Oberon provides an investment structure and identifying regional talent, this new venture is ripe for successfully transforming untapped talent into a high-performance, scalable business.”
