In theory, AI technology could speed up game development and even replace jobs through automated processes. This makes AI controversial, but despite the sensitivity of the issue, publishers such as EA and Microsoft are strong supporters of the new technology.

However, Nintendo is skeptical of using generative artificial intelligence in its games, and the reason for this is quite simple: Nintendo is aware of the potential impacts that generative artificial intelligence may have on intellectual property rights, and as one of the most litigious companies in the entire industry, it is a company that protects and respects all forms of copyright and intellectual property law.

“In the game industry, AI-like technology has long been used to control the movements of enemy characters, and game development and AI technology have always been closely related.

“We have decades of experience building the know-how to create the best gaming experiences for our customers. We will continue to respond flexibly to technological developments and deliver our unique value that cannot be achieved through technology alone.”
