Newsom posts AI video of Star Wars Emperor Palpatine's Trump Tweet

AI Video & Visuals

Gavin Newsom has dumped the subtle things today in a war of words with President Donald Trump, and now a war of lawsuits.

The California governor's press has posted two seemingly AI-generated videos of Tiktok, with a voice that sounds like Star Wars Emperor Palpatine (played by Ian McDearmid) after reading a recent military-oriented post from the president related to Los Angeles unrest.

The first features a highly married John Williams sound score, playing an animated image of a stormtrooper moving on the ground as if the star destroyer floats above his head. An ominous voice begins to read Trump's words.

You can see it below.

In the second video, footage from the Empire attack features footage from the beginning at a rebel base The Empire fights back. Trump's text used in the video warns that “Los Angeles has been completely wiped out” due to his intervention.

Newsom, of course, gets the page from the Trump playbook here. The President likes to post AI-generated videos and images related to current news events.

In February, as the conflict intensified in Gaza, the president posted an AI video featuring a makeover Gaza filled with beaches, skyscrapers and Gold Trump statues. The post attracted intense criticism from PLO and neighboring Arab countries.
