Namrata VaswaniThe Joseph and Elizabeth Anderlik Professor of Engineering has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
she is honored, “For contributions to the field of statistical machine learning, particularly dynamic structured high-dimensional data recovery.”
Vaswani is a professor of electrical and computer engineering and researches data science with a particular focus on statistical machine learning, signal processing, and medical image processing. Over the past decade, her research has introduced new online and mini-batch algorithms for structured high-dimensional signal learning problems. Recently, her research has focused on secure distributed learning algorithms. Ms. Vaswani also directs her CyMath program at Iowa State University.
According to the AAAS awards announcement, the latest class of AAAS Fellows includes 502 “scientists, engineers, and innovators,” all of whom have demonstrated “distinguished scientific or societal efforts to advance science.” ” has been recognized.
The new AAAS Fellows will be celebrated at a forum on September 21, 2024 in Washington, DC. They will also receive gold and blue rosette pins (the colors represent science and engineering, respectively). Their names will be published in the April issue of Science magazine.
