Morgan Freeman is speaking out about AI again.

And this wasn’t the first time the Oscar winner spoke out about the issue. In June 2024, he expressed his gratitude to his fans who noticed that an AI-generated imitation of his voice was created by X. “Thank you to all my amazing fans for their vigilance and support against the unauthorized use of AI voices imitating me,” Freeman wrote. “Your dedication allows us to ensure that authenticity and integrity remain paramount. Thank you.” He also used the hashtags “fraud” and “identity protection.”

AI has been a hot topic in Hollywood lately, with SAG-AFTRA working on the creation of computer-generated actress Tilly Norwood in September.

“To be clear, ‘Tilly Norwood’ is not an actor; she is a character generated without permission or compensation by a computer program trained on the work of countless professional performers,” SAG-AFTRA said. “There’s no real life experience or emotion to draw from. And from what we’ve seen, audiences have no interest in watching computer-generated content divorced from human experience. It doesn’t solve any ‘problems’; it creates the problems of using stolen performances to put actors out of work, endangering performers’ livelihoods, and devaluing human artistry.”
