More and more AI sites and services can generate short videos based on descriptions or still images. Now you can add Midjourney to your mix.
On Wednesday, the popular AI image creator announced that users will be able to animate images into five-second video. This new feature is available to all Midjourney subscribers, including a master plan that costs $10 per month, and offers a variety of ways to cook cool videos.

Taking an image-to-video approach allows you to create videos from images that have already been generated via MidJourney or uploaded from your computer. From there, simply select the animation button and the conversion will begin. But there's more to it, based on how you want to direct the video.
Autoconfiguration creates a motion prompt and devises a video on its own. Otherwise, using manual settings allows you to modify the prompt and explain to you as you want to view the video.
You can also choose between low motion and high motion. The majority of the camera is stationary and low movement is excellent in surrounding scenes where subjects move slowly. High movement is perfect for scenes where you want to move both the camera and the target.
After the first video is generated, it can be extended for about 4 seconds at a time, then four times. This means that a 5-second video could turn into relatively full-length production in just over 20 seconds.
For now, video generation is only available on the Midjourney website, not on other roads. There will also be costs involved with credits and minutes.

Each video you create costs about 8 times more than what you need for the image. The number of credits you receive each month and the fast minutes will vary depending on your plan. However, if you are missing it you can also purchase additional credits. However, for the future, Midjourney said it will offer a relaxing mode for Pro and Mega Plan subscribers.
“We're releasing version 1 of our video model across the community,” says Midjourney. “From a technical standpoint, this model is a stepping stone, but for now we had to figure out what we should actually give you. Our goal is to give something fun, easy, beautiful, affordable so that everyone can explore.
How to try it

Sign in to the Midjourney website with your account. If you want to animate an existing image, and haven't created it using AI yet, check out my article on “How to generate amazing images with AI using Midjourney's website.”
On the left sidebar[作成]Click the tab to open the image you want to convert to video. The bottom right corner of the page displays animation options. Choose Auto to animate your video in Midjourney, or choose Manual to provide a prompt. Here you can also choose low or high movements depending on the animation of the video. Midjourney will let you know that your work has been submitted.
[整理]Please visit the page. Once Midjourney is complete, you will see four videos based on the image. Open one of the videos and play them. If necessary, you can expand the video by selecting Auto or Manual and selecting Motion or High Motion at the bottom right. Selecting High Movement will display the current prompt at the top and allow you to change it. This way you can expand your video up to four times.
To try this, I used an existing image of a woman with long red hair in a white night gown dancing with a tall man in a top hat and a black tuxedo. The video obtained was beautifully rendered, smooth and fluid, and what I wanted.

I came across some hiccups. In one case, Midjourney said that it could not generate videos based on existing images because it could violate guidelines. That's odd because Midjourney created the image in the first place. I also had a hard time trying to expand the image by modifying the prompts myself using the manual option. But hopefully these glitches will be resolved for yourself. For now, creating new videos is a cool way to bring life to your still images.
