As the agent wave begins and collides with deep personalization, digital twins could soon move from science fiction to reality.
In fact, as AI gains more access to our digital lives, with the ability to see our emails, Slack messages, work tickets, codebases, social media profiles, calendars, and contacts, at what point will it serve as a sidekick or even a replacement for certain tasks? In fact, delegating some tasks or grunt work to your twin could further free up your bandwidth for your most important priorities.
But of course, this technology is still in its infancy, but as the concept of digital twins becomes mainstream, we need to ask some deep philosophical questions, especially if the twin evolves from sidekick, assistant, and co-pilot to something more like a replacement. These are exciting times, but also scary, as layoffs are on the rise across technology and other industries. The era of digital twins and proxies is here.
Meta Platforms is wasting no time when it comes to AI adoption
in any case, meta platform Spending a lot of money on AI CapEx (NASDAQ:META | META Price Prediction) appears to be testing uncharted territory, and in my view, every dollar spent could be more than worth it. There will reportedly be an AI version of Mark Zuckerberg to help communicate with Meta employees. Indeed, this seems like a great low-risk move that could allow a company to take its mission and vision to another level entirely.
Given how quickly Mr. Zuckerberg embraced such technology, I believe it would be a mistake to conclude that Metaplatform is that far behind in the AI race. Meta Spark may not be at the level of Claude Mythos yet, but I suspect it will be one of the first to unleash the biggest wave of monetization as the Meta platform moves rapidly with AI.
In my opinion, Zack’s accessibility will allow him and the company to make optimal decisions faster, effectively flattening the corporate structure and removing much of the friction that comes with being a mega-cap giant. Could such technology really eliminate red tape and at the same time give Meta the agility of a fraction of the size of a company?
Digital twins and proxies may be in their infancy, but I don’t think it would be too unusual if other technology companies end up doing the same thing in the next few years, when proxies become the norm.
The rise of digital labor is serious
Meta also has internal oversight with its Model Capability Initiative (MCI), and we believe the Meta Platform is leveraging an invaluable treasure trove of data that will enable agents and digital labor to take their agents and digital labor to the next level.
This is a deep concept and has the potential to put meta platforms in the fast lane for agents. Sure, it might sound dystopian to some, but no matter how you look at it, it looks like Meta is going to do whatever it takes to get the technology it needs to get to the top of the AI podium.
Given Meta’s incredibly impressive (and very expensive) superintelligence dream team and willingness to announce bold news while staying at the cutting edge of agent technology, I wouldn’t be surprised if Meta Platforms leverages the power of AI to improve metrics like revenue per employee and profit per employee in the coming years. If every employee has access to a digital Zuck, I think investors may want to consider what value they get from having founders to mentor them.
conclusion
If you want to dismiss Digital Zuck as exotic, I think this proxy stands out as one of the low-risk, high-impact AI applications.
Is this a massive asymmetrical bet that most people may underestimate? We’ll have to wait and see. Either way, it’s very interesting to think about a company where a version of the CEO could exist forever. Even if Meta and other companies get the technology right, asymmetric bets could still be significantly undervalued by Wall Street.
