The Boston-based startup today announces a $2.7 million seed funding round to expand its intelligent agent platform across drugs, biotechnology and MedTech Industries. The round was led by LightSpeed with participation from leading healthcare and enterprise AI investors. Funding product expansion, team growth and deeper deployment with global life sciences organizations, including Fortune 500 customers already under contract.
Founded by Udith Vaidyanathan and Arun Ramakrishnan, Logicflo represents a fundamentally different vision of AI in a regulated industry. “Move fast and break things” is a disaster recipe, and LogicFlo offers a new paradigm: move accurately. Vaidyanathan previously drove out of Harvard Business School to build the LogicFlo AI after piloting major business units from within Abbott's CEO office. Co-founder and CTO Arun Ramakrishnan previously led a deep learning effort with intuitive surgery, building a high-precision AI model of the Da Vinci robotic system deployed in real-world surgery. “Traditional automation has failed in life sciences because it's too stiff and too fragile and it touches too much on how people actually work,” explains Arun Ramakrishnan, co-founder of Rogiflo. “Our agents are different. They are intelligent, configurable, craftable, and understand the nuances of scientific research.”
LogicFlo illustrates the fundamental shift from a system of records to an engagement system for enterprise software. While most Life Sciences software focuses on platforms that store information but don't do any work, LogicFlo introduces a layer of direct interaction with intelligent agents that allow users to be mentored, act and deliver results. The work itself moves to a unified engagement system for the first time, marking a paradigm shift in how knowledge occurs.
The platform is already deployed to medical, regulatory, commercial and quality teams of global pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The deployment usually starts with 20-30 active users and expands organically as the team experiences the outcome. The impact is dramatic. Medical writing production, which took weeks, takes minutes – reduced the time by up to 2000 times to the first draft, and the timeline for responding to medical information requests collapsed from one to two weeks to one to two days.
Brittle automation or black box cop or black box cop or logicflo was built from day one for production within a regulated environment. All agents operate within a fully auditable human loop system. Agents are trained to adapt to their organization with SopAware and follow the specific templates, workflows and compliance requirements of each company.
