The lawsuit follows an AI video of the virus showing James as a compromised scene with a pregnant man, mermaid, Diddy and Stephen Curry.
LeBron James is taking legal action against Interlink AI, the creator of artificial intelligence content. This uses his portrait without permission in a series of strange, viral deepfake videos.
According to a report from 404 Media, lawyers at James' law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks recently published AI, a tool and a mismatch-based platform that can generate AI videos for celebrities, including NBA superstars, to Interlink AI.
Jason Stacks, founder of Flickup, an AI video generation platform that hosts Interlinks, confirmed to 404 Media that he received one of those letters.
“Within 30 minutes of receiving the suspension and assumption teacher, we decided to remove all realistic people from the AI software,” Stacks said.
“The Generated AI is “Wild West” in terms of copyright and IP, but it is committed to being on the right side of that change. ”
The legal challenge comes after James is an AI-generated video that is widely circulated on social media, portrayed as a pregnant man, a mermaid, and portrays him in eccentric scenarios, including a compromised situation with rapper Diddy and NBA player Stephen Curry.
One such video featuring James, Diddy and Curry has won around 6.2 million views on Instagram. The interlink discrepancy reportedly celebrated 50 Cent when he liked the clip.
Following the legal warning, Interlink moderators informed their discrepancies that they had removed all “realistic people models” from the platform and avoided further legal issues. Interlink previously developed AI models based on several public figures, including Elon Musk, Drake, and Ye.
Instagram reportedly took action in the wake of the controversy and deleted at least three accounts that were distributing videos generated by James' non-consensual AI.
This situation underscores the growing tension between AI developers and public figures over consent, image rights and legal boundaries of synthetic media.
