“Latifah” introduces her virtual Emirati family

AI News

(Web Desk) – There was a vote and the UAE was officially appointed as the first ever virtual Emirati family member.

The country recently announced an AI project and invited the community to join with the girl's name. Around 14,000 people have since participated in the voting process.

Of the three names, Latifah received 37%, which made him appear as the winner in 43% of the vote, while Dubai won 20%.

Latifah, the first Emirati girl character to be powered by AI, introduced her father, Mohammed, her mother, Salama, and her younger brother, Rashid.

Dressed in a traditional Emirati outfit with a modern twist, the character is designed to be warm and friendly, especially for children and families, encouraging dialogues on technology, AI and digital services.

The family marks the first digital model inspired by Emirati's values, designed to connect with diverse community segments and languages. This step is part of a series of initiatives launched by Digital Dubai under the “Year of Communities” announced by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The new virtual family is envisioned as a set of “digital ambassadors” who share storytelling content that reflects the digital life of Dubai.

Latifah and her family will soon be appearing on social media platforms to highlight the Digital Dubai initiative and promote safe and responsible behavior in the digital space.
