Seoul – The short video, which appears to be a live-action remake of “KPOP Demon Hunters,” went viral on Thursday, but was later revealed as an AI creation.
The 35-second clip, titled “K-Pop Demon Hunters Film Leaks,” began to spread rapidly on platforms such as YouTube and Tiktok.
In the video, the actor appears to be preparing for filming and is seen interacting with the staff on the set. The cast members are very similar to the characters in the film, including the fictional girl band Huntrix, Rumi, Zoe, Mira, and Jin Woo and Mystery from the Saja Boys.
The clip quickly gained traction and had more than 2.6 million views as of noon on Friday.
However, it was later confirmed that the footage was generated by AI. The video was uploaded by Fantasoner, a YouTube channel with over 80,000 subscribers who use AI tools to generate all the content.
Many viewers expressed shock, leaving comments such as “It's so real and scary” and “I thought Netflix was filming a live-action film.”
The channel previously released a similar project, including an AI-generated live-action version of the Japanese animated classic Howl's Moving Castle.
While many fans praised the video for how realistic it is, some local tech experts have expressed concern about the ethical implications of such surreal AI content. They pointed out that clearer labeling and stronger guidelines are needed to prevent confusion and protect the original creators while AI opens up new creative possibilities.
