Acting as a functional hub, the CoE aims to strengthen Singapore’s role as a global ‘trusted node’ by collaborating with business, academia and the public sector to co-develop solutions and support the development of the AI ecosystem.

KPMG uses itself as ‘client zero’ for suitable solutions co-developed through the CoE and tested within its own practice before delivering them to clients.

Initial operations will focus on functions such as finance, governance, risk and compliance, customer service and operations, as well as financial services, infrastructure and logistics, manufacturing, government, healthcare, and real estate.

Lee Se Yen, Managing Partner of KPMG Singapore, said: “Through KPMG Singapore’s Trusted AI Center of Excellence, we partner with companies to rigorously assess their current situation, fill critical gaps, and build AI that is trusted not only locally but in the markets that matter most to their growth.”

At the same event, KPMG announced the Trusted AI Assurance Framework, described as an evidence-based approach to assess AI adoption and provide Singapore businesses with a clearer path to AI expansion.

Trusted AI Assurance complies with EU AI legislation, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO 42001, and Singapore’s Model AI Governance Framework.

Germaine Roy, Managing Director of Singapore EDB, said: “We welcome KPMG Singapore’s efforts to work with EDB and related institutions to advance Singapore’s position as a globally trusted hub for AI adoption and innovation.”

Recently, KPMG integrated Anthropic’s Claude AI into its global technology platform Digital Gateway.
