Max Heytmanek, English language editor and voiceover director for Warhorse Studios’ 2025 GOTY-nominated hit Kingdom Come: Deliverance IIlast night claimed his position at Warhorse Studios has become “obsolete” after the Czech developer told the RPG studio that it would “use AI for all translations from now on”.

Hejtmánek shared this information in a post on the r/kingdomcome subreddit this morning. Since 2022, Heytmanek has been a “Czech>English translator and editor”. Kingdom Come: Deliverance IIand was at least halfway working on additional content or another project for Warhorse Studios at the time of his firing, based on his comments that he “had actual work to do” before he was fired.

“Yesterday, March 27, 2026, without any warning, I was invited to a meeting and immediately told that in order to “make the company more efficient” and “save money,” starting next month, my position at the company would be “obsolete” and that from now on I would support the use of AI for all translations,” Heitmanek said in the post.

“This was a huge shock to me, as if the discussion of using AI for translation had come up often in the past, and I was always strongly and vocally against it, but not so much that it might actually cost me my future work,” Heytmanek continued. “Of course, it crossed my mind many times, but I was naive about my job. [Warhorse Studios] It was well evaluated and may not be in immediate danger. ”

The news of Hymanek’s firing comes in the wake of recent comments from studio executives supporting generative AI. Warhorse Studios co-founder Daniel Vávra seems to be completely on board with this controversial technology and recently started working on X. Supports Nvidia’s DLSS 5 AI slop filter technology. “This is a bit of a creepy start,” Vervra said in the post. “There’s no way the antis can stop this.”

Hejtmánek says another in-house localizer remains at the studio, at least for now. ““Warhorse, if you’re here and you make a decision like this, your next match will be a failure,” one fan wrote on the subreddit, “People don’t like this kind of crap.”
