HUNTSVILLE — Camgian officially opened its Huntsville office on Monday, opening its doors to developers of award-winning advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning defense technology solutions.
“This office represents our epicenter in support of some of the most important missions in national security today,” said Dr. Gary Butler, founder and CEO of Kamjang, while welcoming guests to the ceremony.
Kamjang’s grand opening drew local leaders including Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle and Dylan Smith, district director for the office of U.S. Rep. Dale Strong. Known for its advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, the company specializes in kill chain automation software designed to help air defense operators make faster and more effective decisions in conflict environments.
Butler told the crowd that Kamjang’s growth in Huntsville is the beginning of a long-term investment.
“We want to build a world-class team of AI and machine learning engineers here,” he said. “We see this as just the beginning and look forward to expanding beyond this first office.”
Located in Golden Dome
Butler said the decision to expand into Huntsville is closely tied to Redstone Arsenal’s regional leadership in air and missile defense, including the emerging Golden Dome program.
“Kill chain automation is one of the most important technologies that will be part of the Golden Dome architecture,” he said. “Because of the importance of this mission, we want to radically expand the number of talented AI and software engineers here.”
Camgian employs approximately 25 people in Huntsville and has 130 employees nationwide, including offices in Starkville, Tuscaloosa, and Lawton, Oklahoma.
Leaders emphasize Huntsville’s role in national defense
Smith praised Kamjian’s decision to invest in Huntsville, saying its mission aligns directly with national security priorities.
“Your work does not go unnoticed,” he said on behalf of Strong (R-Huntsville). “We truly believe there is no better place to support our warfighters and do business for the federal government than here in Huntsville. We have support from the local government all the way down to the federal level.
“Thank you for your efforts to keep our warfighters safe.”
Battle said Kamjang strengthens Redstone Gateway’s long-term vision.
“We appreciate your investment in Huntsville and thank you for being a part of our community,” he said. “At Camgian, we are introducing centers of excellence that use AI to help you make decisions faster and make the right decisions.”
Commitment to remain a good partner
Butler said Kamjan wants to be a “force for good in our communities,” adding that community engagement is a core value wherever the company operates.
“We want to be involved in bringing good-paying jobs to the area, whether it’s the local school system or the broader community,” he said.
The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce welcomed Kamjian in a member introduction and praised the company’s dual focus on national defense and local involvement.
Huntsville’s long-term strategy
Kamjan’s office on Rideout Road is located within Redstone Gateway, placing the company close to major Army program offices and defense partners. Butler said he expects to spend more time in Huntsville as the company grows.
“This is just the beginning,” he said. “We look forward to expanding our footprint and working with the partners who have welcomed us here.”
