AI News

A few months ago, Apple started rolling out iOS 26 alongside the iPhone 17 series. The tech giant’s latest operating system for iPhone introduces a new design language called “Liquid Glass,” along with a slew of other visual and functional changes. The first rumors about what to expect from iOS 27 are currently circulating on the internet.

According to a new report: bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 27 will focus on introducing “quality improvements and artificial intelligence features.” This is very similar to what the tech giant did in 2009 with its “Snow Leopard” update, which also focused on user experience improvements and bug fixes.

While not many users are reporting any issues with the new iOS 26, some have complained about overheating, battery drain, and other visual and connectivity glitches. The report goes on to say that with iOS 27, Apple’s engineering team has increased its focus on bug fixes and “improving performance and overall quality.”

Garman also said that the next iOS version will have some new AI features, but the tech giant appears to be lagging behind its competitors in this area. While not much is known at this point, there is speculation that iOS 27 will feature a health-focused AI agent and add AI-powered web search. Apple appears to be preparing the software for its first foldable iPhone, which is rumored to arrive next September, with a greater focus on stability and performance improvements.

The company is also said to be working on AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini. The AI chatbot, dubbed Answer Engine, is reportedly being developed by a newly formed team called Answers, Knowledge and Information. Apple is expected to announce iOS 27 at its annual developer conference, usually held in June, with a public beta likely to be released a month later.
