JAKARTA (Anthara) – Indonesia's Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs have launched public consultations to improve the draft white paper on the draft concepts of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Roadmap and AI Ethics Guidelines.
“The public consultation is intended to gather feedback and opinions from relevant stakeholders,” the department said in a statement on Saturday.
The white paper forms part of the government's broader efforts to accelerate the adoption of AI in a comprehensive, sustainable, responsible way.
A total of 443 representatives from government agencies, academia, industry, civil society organizations and the media participated in the AI Roadmap Task Force and contributed to its development.
This document is intended to serve as a strategic foundation for future policies regarding AI governance and utilization.
In parallel, the government drafted AI Ethics Guidelines to complement existing ethical frameworks and is based on Minister No. 9 on Artificial Intelligence Ethics in 2023.
Through the consultation process, the government hopes to refine both the AI roadmap and ethical guidelines into a comprehensive framework to guide the country's AI development.
Feedback can be submitted to the Ministry until August 22nd. The public can participate by downloading draft documents from the Ministry's official channels, including AI roadmap, ethics guidelines, and response submission templates.
