LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Short-term stay company Airbnb is introducing technology to curb partying in Las Vegas ahead of Memorial Day weekend.
The company announced that 20 reservations in Las Vegas were suspended over the 2025 Memorial Day weekend due to the technology. This helps reduce the risk of “unauthorized” parties.

A statement from the company describes the software as follows:
“Anti-party defenses active during the holidays leverage machine learning to prevent potentially risky bookings across residential listings and help enforce Airbnb’s global party ban. Guests attempting to book will either be blocked from booking or redirected to alternative accommodation options on the platform.”
It’s important to note that parties are still very rare on Airbnb. In 2025, only 0.07% of reservations in Nevada were suspected of being a party. ”
Clark County Enforcement Pending Court Injunction
Residents can report issues such as noise and trash.
Clark County faces restrictions on short-term rental enforcement due to an injunction issued in federal court in December. A judge granted an emergency injunction suspending fines and court appearances after homeowners and Airbnb argued in a lawsuit that the strict regulations were unconstitutional.
Clark County’s statement clarifies the scope of enforcement.
“The injunction is still in effect. The county cannot enforce whether short-term rentals are allowed or not, but complaints that impact residents’ quality of life, such as noise and trash, can still be reported.” FixIt Clark County. Please report any concerns about illegal activity to Metro. ”
The county is appealing the injunction. In court documents filed, the district attorney argues that the county’s ordinances are intended to prevent “public harm” caused by guests, and that various codes are guided by state law.
