Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Saturday asserted that AI (artificial intelligence) has an important role to play in the era of communication revolution, said the state government will soon introduce an ‘AI policy’ and encouraged the younger generation to contribute ideas and initiatives to make Bihar an AI hub.
Inaugurating the ‘Bihar AI Summit 2026’ at the Urja Auditorium in the state capital here, Chaudhary said that through AI, Bihar will become one of the leading developed countries in the country.
Stating that AI will become an important part of life, Chaudhary said, “Currently, around 1.2 billion people use mobile phones in India. Under the capable and efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a communication revolution is taking place in the country.”
“Continuous efforts and efforts will be made to transform Bihar into an AI hub. The government will soon introduce an AI policy,” the CM said.
On the infrastructure front, Chaudhary announced that the 125-km long Ganges Expressway, which will be built at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore, will be completed within the next three years on a PPP (public-private partnership) model. A new four-lane expressway named ‘Viswamitra Pass’ will improve connectivity between Patna and western Bihar. The total length is approximately 125 km, including a section of approximately 90 km along the river bank.
The Prime Minister said the entire government machinery will be made available to support students appearing for the NEET exam on June 21. Students will be provided free bus facility to reach the examination halls, the CM added.
“Return to Bihar”
Chaudhary appealed to Bihar’s migrants to return to their hometowns, saying they should return to their hometowns from their workplaces and repay their debts to the state. “The government is working to ensure employment opportunities within Bihar for those who are forced to migrate for work,” he said.
The summit, organized by the IT department in collaboration with Bihar Industries Association (BIA) and Qlass EdTech, was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Information Technology Minister Nitish Mishra and Founder of BharatGPT Ankush Agrawal.
