This week we talked about how Google Search has been extremely volatile throughout the week. Google’s John Mueller said there’s really no such thing as a poorly titled black filter in search. Many businesses seem to be frustrated that Google reviews are disappearing. Google also updated their review policy, so that may have something to do with it. Google Search Console has rolled out a new AI-powered configuration tool. Google said social channels and branded query filters will continue to be available. Google and Bing call markdown files clutter and cause unnecessary crawl load. Google strongly discourages forcing pages to be indexed in search. Google has launched new links for AI Overview and AI Mode. Google AI mode now works in 53 new languages. Google said it was a major engineering project to prevent sites from appearing in AI Overview. Google AI Overview clicks are shifting from organic clicks to Shopping ad clicks. Google is losing its knowledge graph source. Google Ads may automatically enable paused keywords only for automatically paused keywords. Google Ads now displays PMax placement report details. Google Ads allows you to calculate conversion value for new customers. A bug in Google AdSense anchor and vignette ads prevents you from closing the ads. That was the search news at this week’s Search Engine Roundtable.
