The Iranian embassy in Tajikistan on Tuesday posted an AI-generated video showing Jesus Christ punching President Trump in the face.
The embassy posted a video on its social platform X account.
The image, first posted by the president to his Truth Social account, shows Christ appearing from above Trump. The Iranian video includes the top of the Truth Social post page with the first Trump video attached.
As Christ approaches Trump, an automated voice announces, “Your reckoning has come,” before another voice shouts, “What is this?”
President Trump can be seen yelling “no” before Christ punches the president, and the sound of blood spatter coming from President Trump’s mouth can be heard. As Christ looks on, Trump’s body turns and falls into a fiery pit.
The video is one of several released by the Iranian embassy mocking President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran is engaged in a fierce social media battle with the Trump administration in an effort to gain global support amid the US-Israel war.
Most notable is an AI-generated video created by Iranian media company Explosive Media that depicts the leaders of the United States, Israel, and Iran as Lego minifigures. These videos mock President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu while touting Iran’s military capabilities.
The Trump administration is also waging a war on social media, using images from the video game series “Grand Theft Auto” and “SpongeBob SquarePants” to score points online and highlight the accomplishments of the U.S. military.
A spokesperson for Explosive Media defended the company’s relationship with the Iranian government in an interview on the BBC’s Top Comments podcast. He referenced the mass protests in January and accused President Trump of funding a “coup.” The spokesperson also dismissed claims that the video depicting Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel was anti-Semitic, adding: “Our video is anti-Zionist.”
The “Punch” video mocks a now-deleted image posted Sunday that was rendered as a painting and depicts President Trump in a white robe touching the forehead of a man lying in what appears to be a hospital bed with his eyes closed. A light shines between Trump’s hand and the man’s head.
Surrounding the man and Trump are nurses, soldiers, a bearded man and a young woman with her hands clasped in prayer. A fighter jet, two bald eagles, an American flag and a ghostly figure resembling a military officer appeared in the sky around President Trump. This rendering also includes fireworks over the Statue of Liberty and the Lincoln Memorial.
Trump’s post sparked a backlash among conservatives and Christian voters, with many condemning the image of AI as blasphemous.
After deleting the post, President Trump told reporters on Monday, “I thought it was me, a doctor.” Vice President Vance said the post was a “joke” but was removed because the president “realized that many people did not understand his humor.”
President Trump’s post came on the heels of his feud with Pope Leo XIV, who has been an outspoken opponent of his administration’s conflict with Iran. President Trump applauded the Chicago-born pope, accused Leo of being “soft on crime” and claimed that if Trump had not been in the White House, he would not have elected Leo as pope at last year’s conclave.
