Google has announced that it will be introducing an AI-powered feature called “Magic Pixel” to its older devices, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 6.
According to Indian ExpressUntil now, unique software features like Magic Pixel, Audio Magic Editor, and Video Boost were limited to the company's latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 pro.
Magic Pixel is a set of numerous image editing and enhancement tools that allow you to move objects, erase parts of photos, apply unique filters that look realistic, resize images, and more.
In a blog post, Google wrote about Magic Editor: “The editor makes it easy to make complex photo edits with simple, intuitive controls, like repositioning a subject or changing a sky from gray to blue. We're now expanding access to Magic Editor to all Pixel devices.”
Meanwhile, Google appears set to limit the number of times users can save images and videos, with a limit of 10 images and videos expected to be allowed per month.
To use the feature in its entirety, users will need to purchase a Pixel 8 series device or subscribe to a Google One plan with at least 2TB of storage.
The new Magic Pixel feature is currently available on some Pixel 6 and 7 devices, but reports suggest that Google is still rolling out the new feature, so it may be a while before it's available on all devices.
