Google AI Basics Course
As one of the pioneers in developing AI-enabled tools (Artificial Intelligence), Google has partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry to offer AI courses through the online learning platform Coursera.
Post-release A survey conducted by consulting firm Access PartnershipThe Philippine government sees AI as potentially bringing 2.8 trillion pesos ($50.7 billion) of economic benefits to the country, and Google has ramped up its offerings of these courses to help upskill the workforce.
The initiative also includes a partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, which will ensure that scholarships for the course are distributed to Filipino youth, job seekers, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), entrepreneurs, civil servants, and other key groups.
The Google AI Essentials course is a self-paced online program taught by Google's AI experts. No AI experience required. The course aims to increase productivity through hands-on experience with various AI tools in under 10 hours. Students will be trained to use AI for tasks such as brainstorming ideas, making informed decisions, speeding up everyday tasks, and creating effective prompts. Participants will also learn to use AI responsibly while mitigating bias and inaccuracies. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Google-issued skill badge demonstrating their AI proficiency.
