GO Ventures invests in AI cybersecurity company Jericho Security

AI For Business

GO Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of GO plc, has invested in Jericho Security, a New York-based cybersecurity firm that develops artificial intelligence tools to help organizations defend against increasingly sophisticated social engineering attacks.

This investment comes as businesses face a rapidly changing threat landscape, with attackers using generated AI to create more convincing phishing campaigns, synthetic voices, and deepfake content.

The investment comes as European organizations increasingly face rapid adoption of artificial intelligence by both defenders and attackers. Global information security spending is expected to exceed €170 billion annually, and European companies are increasing their investments as new regulations and advanced social engineering threats reshape security priorities.

Nikhil Patil, CEO of GO plc, said: “Cybersecurity has become a defining challenge for organizations as artificial intelligence changes the scale and sophistication of attacks.” “This investment reflects our strategy to support innovative technology companies that can deliver long-term strategic value while strengthening our commitment to cybersecurity as a key growth area.”

Founded in 2023, Jericho Security uses generative AI to simulate real-world phishing, voice, SMS, video, and other social engineering attacks. Its platform allows organizations to test employee resiliency against evolving threats and conduct adaptive security awareness training.

The company’s approach focuses on the human element, which remains one of the most challenging areas of cybersecurity. As attackers increasingly use AI to personalize and automate their campaigns, organizations are looking for new ways to prepare employees for threats that may not be detected by traditional security controls.

The company recently raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Era Fund with participation from leading technology investors including Lux Capital, Plug and Play Ventures, Gainels, Dash Fund, and Distique Ventures. This funding will support continued product development and international expansion.

“GO Ventures brings more than capital to this partnership,” said Sage Wohns, CEO of Jericho Security. “GO’s deep cybersecurity expertise and established presence across European markets make them the ideal partner to expand Jericho’s platform into new territories.”

“Their team understands the technical challenges organizations currently face and how the cybersecurity landscape in the region is evolving, which will be invaluable as we expand our footprint in Europe.”

Jericho has proven the success of its advanced solutions with a growing customer base that includes the U.S. Air Force, the NFL, and more.

GO Ventures invests in early-stage technology companies with the potential to create long-term strategic value, with a focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, digital infrastructure, and enterprise software.
