Searching for email is never an easy task. Especially when your inbox is full of emails that are hard to sort through.
But Gmail is about to offer a new and efficient way to perform searches via email with the help of machine learning.
There is still a great deal of debate about which service is best, depending on who you ultimately ask. If you’re an Android user or a frequent user of Google’s platform, you’ll find it nearly impossible to live without Gmail.
Over the past few years, the company has actually made significant enhancements that act as search mini-boosters. It is designed to assign the most important emails to the top, followed by another component called “Top Results”.
The new effort was first mentioned on the Google Workspace blog, where the company mentioned the latest version of how it improves the overall search experience. This is done through a smartphone app.
Features like this really help us find what we’re looking for, and using machine learning is the right way to handle the situation. This model takes advantage of search terms, most recent emails, and other important factors to indicate the best matches for your search.
Using machine learning seems like a big step forward from past methods, but it’s the section called “Top Results” that really matters. This will appear higher in searches and can also be seen in the Gmail app.
The latest screengrab gives more information on this point, including how to find the search results area just below the top results area. This concerns those that rely on search terms and those that are ordered starting with the most recent posts. Therefore, the first email received will take precedence.
Google is very proud of this new initiative and has described it as one of the most requested offers to give users a very convenient way to search files on their platform via email.
As for when this new feature will be available, it will start rolling out today to all Google Workspace clients and clients with personal accounts. However, it will take at least a few more weeks to reach Gmail.
