Geoffroy Van Raemdonk, former chief executive officer of Neiman Marcus Group, has joined Vernique, an AI technology company that helps retailers and brands deepen customer engagement and help shoppers discover products.
Van Raemdonck has joined as both an advisory board member and strategic investor.
Mr. Vernique credited Mr. Van Reemdonk for his work in “shaping and accelerating the transformation of the world's most famous brands across the spectrum of global premium, luxury and multi-brand retail. Mr. Van Reemdonk joins Vernique as the company accelerates growth by redefining end-to-end retail operations and customer experiences.”
Van Raemdonck served as NMG's CEO for nearly seven years before Sachs Global acquired the business last December. He is a senior advisor at Boston Consulting Group.
Through its AI-native operating platform, Verneek transforms enterprise data into custom, vertically integrated solutions for front and back office retail functions. Van Raemdonk joins at a pivotal moment when retailers are prioritizing AI to respond to changing consumer behavior while addressing issues around inventory, merchandising, store operations, marketing, customer management, e-commerce, and other areas.
Prior to Neiman Marcus Group, Van Raemdonck was an executive at Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren.
“Retail is being rewritten by AI. Consumer shopping behavior is rapidly changing, and so are consumer expectations,” Van Raemdonk said in a statement. “I am excited to invest in Verneek, join its advisory board, and help shape the future of retail through Verneek’s transformational technology that benefits retailers, brands, and consumers.
“Verneek partners with some of the most recognizable brands in the world,” he said. “The differentiated value lies in delivering an integrated AI-native solution across all customer touchpoints.” Nordstrom Inc. is one of Verneek's customers.
Van Raemdonck transformed NMG's culture by, among other things, enhancing the brand experience through a strategy called “retailtainment,” giving stylists and sales associates the tools to communicate with customers in different ways, and navigating NMG through bankruptcy and the pandemic.
Nasrin, CEO and co-founder of Verneek and AI scientist “Geoffroy is known for leading iconic brands through highly complex transformations. 2026 will be defined as the year of AI in shopping,” Mostafazadeh said in a statement. “Geoffroy's timely advice and deep industry relationships strengthen our commitment to enabling retailers to implement AI-native solutions that drive sales growth and contain cost structures while significantly improving the customer experience.”
