Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled Galaxy AI, a suite of AI-powered features to improve users' everyday lives. One of the features is Live Translate, a real-time language translation tool for voice calls. Now, Galaxy AI is set to get language translation for WhatsApp calls as well.
Galaxy AI brings language translation for WhatsApp calls to One UI 6.1.1
A few days ago, Samsung announced that it would be introducing real-time language translation feature to third-party apps. Now, the feature will soon be compatible with WhatsApp, the world's most popular instant messaging and calling app. Tipster Ice Universe has revealed that the WhatsApp call language translation feature will be coming to compatible Galaxy smartphones.
This compatibility is likely to be announced at Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, where Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Both of these phones will run One UI 6.1.1 out of the box, and the live translation feature for WhatsApp voice calls is likely to debut in the new version of One UI.

On supported smartphones, the live translation feature works on-device, which means the data is processed locally on your phone. Your data is not sent to a server, so it remains secure and private. Apart from WhatsApp, Samsung may also bring the feature to Google Meet and WeChat. However, we will have to wait for an official announcement.
Samsung also offers real-time language translation in the standard and third-party messaging apps (including WhatsApp) on devices with Galaxy AI. The company is also developing an interpreter mode for face-to-face conversations, which is expected to be improved in One UI 6.1.1.
With all these language translation features, Samsung hopes to reduce language barriers and improve communication between people.
