In this article, we put Fliki to the test and evaluated its features, pricing, and real-world in-app experience so you can see if this AI video editor lives up to its claims and is the right tool for you.
Fliki: Plans and pricing
Fliki is a fairly limited free video editing software that gives you 3 credits per month and 36 credits per year. You can export up to 1 minute of video at 720p resolution and have access to 300 standard audios. All other video and audio generation features are limited on the free plan and are limited by the number of credits you receive.
I felt that offering just 3 units per month was very stingy. For example, it costs approximately 0.8 credits to generate a 1-minute AI video. If AI avatars are included, they cost approximately 5.3 credits alone. This means you can’t do much with the free plan other than test the platform.
To get the most out of Fliki, you need to subscribe to one of its paid plans. Standard plans start at $28 per month. Right now, you can get 50% off your subscription, bringing the effective price down to $14 per month. That was a little disappointing since this plan gives you 2,160 credits per year and extends the export time to 15 minutes at 1080p resolution. For example, Kapwing allows you to export 4K quality videos for about the same price.

However, you get unlimited access to a variety of video and audio tools, along with features like voice clones, custom voices, and branding kits. You also have access to a variety of templates to help you create content using pre-built video layouts. This plan also includes several collaboration features, including the ability to bulk create videos from a single CSV file, an AI assistant, and Zapier integration. However, it still does not include team collaboration, which is also disappointing.
Then there’s the premium plan, which costs $88 per month, or $44 per month with current discounts. Here, the maximum export length increases to 40 minutes, but the resolution cap remains at 1080p. Additional features include unlimited AI avatars, custom fonts, fast export, team collaboration, and more.
If you run out of credits, you can purchase top-up credits if you have an active subscription plan. These additional credits are valid for up to 180 days and will remain valid even if your subscription is canceled during this period. Earn up to $2,500 worth of credits, including 60 credits for $10 and 130 credits for $25.
Friki: Features
Fliki includes 54 tools for creating and editing videos and images, supporting a variety of use cases. For example, you can use Fliki to create social media reels, TikTok videos, or faceless YouTube channels.
There’s also the popular AI avatar feature, which lets you create your own avatars and reuse them in your videos. In addition to this, you also get an AI Script Writer, voice clone, subtitle generator, and the super fun Talking Photo feature.
That said, I found that Fliki’s AI avatars are primarily based on real people, rather than offering the wide range of outlandish, fictional characters you get on sites like Kapwing.
These are better viewed as use cases rather than standalone features. The core functionality remains the same. Generate videos and images through prompts. These prompts can be in the form of scripts, reference images, videos, or even audio. Editing tools include background remover, translator and screen recorder.
Fliki has recently made a number of additions to its available tools, making it a more complete video generation and editing platform. For example, we introduced new models such as Flux Klein 2, Nano Banana 2 for images, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 for video, and Native Audio, Multi-Shot, and P-Video for video and lip-syncing needs.
You can also use your own media in your video workflows, along with 130 new character-driven voices in over 20 languages. As of February 2026, Fliki has restructured its audio to include a wider range of emotions, including laughter, sarcasm, and deadpan expressions. All of this can be fine-tuned using natural language descriptions.
Fliki now also supports copyrighted YouTube licensed music. The character library has also been expanded to allow you to create and reuse AI characters across multiple projects.
One of the most exciting additions is the ability to create stop-motion story videos like needle felting wool dolls. Another added feature is TikTok auto-publishing. It allows you to post videos created through Fliki directly to TikTok by linking your account in your workspace settings. You can publish right away or set a drip schedule to release your episodes to TikTok.
Fliki: interface and in use
Getting started with Fliki is very easy. I signed up for the platform using my Google account and it took less than a minute. Once you access it, you’ll see a dashboard with a black background, with various features highlighted in small red rectangular tabs below the prompt box.
The left panel shows all the settings you need to create your video, including media, subtitles, audio, AI copilot, and various templates. However, note that some features are locked behind Fliki’s paid tier, so you won’t have access to all of them if you’re using the free plan.
The best part about editing on Fliki is that its AI-powered editing assistant lets you type what you want in plain English. For example, you can ask them to slow down the intro or add a text overlay at any point in the video.
In addition to this, there are two other ways to create videos. The first is an at-a-glance scene reel with a complete timeline laid out horizontally, and the second is a traditional timeline with features like zoom and snap for more control.
Fliki has also completely overhauled its dashboard, giving it a more intuitive layout and a fresher look and easier-to-access tools.
Fliki: Test method
I used the free version of Fliki to check out its AI video generation capabilities. We entered the following prompt: A woman in a red coat walks through a rain-soaked city street at night, neon signs reflecting in puddles, and a camera slowly following her side (the same prompt we use in all AI video tests).
We were impressed with the amount of customization options Fliki offers. Once you are at the prompt, you will need to select the length of the video you want (minimum is 30 seconds). This was a bit disappointing, as I would have liked to have seen a short video generation option as well.
However, once you make a selection, Fliki will run and generate a detailed script. You can edit this script before proceeding with video generation. In addition to this, there are many options to customize the video right before the generation process starts.
For example, you can choose a format and template, choose portrait, square, or landscape mode, and choose the type of text you want. You can also choose which AI model to use for generation, but most of that is a Pro feature. In addition to this, you also have the option to choose a narration, add a caption, and choose an AI avatar.
I found this to be very useful as I could make all the selections I needed in one place and didn’t have to go back and forth between platforms to make edits later. Once you have made all your selections, click Generate Video. The actual video rendering process took less than a minute.
However, the free tier doesn’t allow you to create AI videos on your own, so I was a little disappointed with the output. The final video consisted of still images with narration, rather than a full-fledged video like the one we got with Kapwing.
Friki: Alternative
Fliki is a very good AI video generation and editing tool, but it has some strong competitors. The first is Adobe Firefly, which costs about $8.49 per month and is about 40% cheaper than Fliki during discount periods.
Firefly’s biggest advantage is its robust workflow capabilities that allow teams to build virtual storyboards and collaborate in real-time. This is limited to Fliki’s top plan. You also get access to all paid plans for Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop. That said, its video editing features are still under development and aren’t as good as Fliki.
Another competitor is Kapwing, which has better AI avatar generation capabilities. While Fliki relies heavily on real-life characters, Kapwing offers many fictional character generation options, such as Dracula, vampires, and anything else you can imagine.
Kapwing also supports exporting up to 120 minutes of 4K video, while Fliki limits exports to 1080p, which is clearly not enough in modern content creation environments. That said, Kapwing is a bit more expensive than Fliki, costing $16 per month. However, the free plan is more robust and allows you to create AI videos instead of videos with still images or narration.
