The video claiming that journalists show women drowning in the water as they report on the poor condition of Kenya roads is fake.
The video captioned “Muzansi (South Africa) is better. Kenya Road Chronicles” shows a journalist wearing a royal blue skirt suit and a white blouse standing in front of the water in the middle of the road.
The journalist said, “And as you can see, the situation here is disastrous. The recent rain has changed this path…”
The reporter pauses, screams, and turns around the sentences along the way when he finds that the woman carrying a tray to her head is dead in the flood.
But is this video real? Pesacheck investigated.
The video raises some red flags. First, individuals walk directly into the water despite the dry parts of the nearby road. Second, the disappearance looks unnatural. They suddenly disappear, as if they were falling into a hole. After the fall, there are no screams or signs of struggle, only the tray can be seen on the surface.
Because of these red flags, Pesacheck analyzed the video using two artificial intelligence detection tools. This confirmed that AI was being generated. Attestiv.Video reported the presence of 68% of AI, and six of the 10 tools in Deepfake-O-Meter detected AI elements in the range of 41.4%.
Pesacheck also performed Google reverse image searches for individuals carrying news reporters and trays. The reverse search results led to other social media users sharing the same video. One thing that stood out was that Google Images detected that video thumbnails were created using “Google AI.”
During the investigation, Pesacheck tracked the video to his Tiktok account using the username “@ace.got.clout” which he originally posted on June 15, 2025. Users do not indicate that the video is being generated by AI.
Pesacheck examines videos claiming that it shows a woman drowning in the water as journalists report on the poor condition of Kenya's roads and finds it to be fake.
