Encouraging Presidents, Business and Industrial Sectors to Adopt AI-Based Solutions

Islamabad’s President Arif Alvi has urged Pakistan’s business and industrial sectors to adopt artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions to solve problems and increase efficiency and productivity.

The President met with a delegation of the Artificial Intelligence Education Foundation (AIEF) at Aiwan-e-Sadr and said that the breakthroughs in information technology are enabling businesses and entrepreneurs in various fields such as health, education, business and industry. New opportunities have been created, he said. And Pakistani IT companies should adopt a global outlook to maximize the benefits.

Dr. Mansur Ali Khan, Chairman of Soliton Investment Fund, Founder and CEO of Soliton Group, Dr. Fauzia Khan, Head of Ministry of IT and Communication, and high government officials attended the meeting.

The President met with the delegation and emphasized the need for Pakistani IT companies to develop win-win partnerships with academia and industry at the national and international levels.

He added that strong and mutually beneficial partnerships between academic and industry players will help achieve key economic and technological milestones.

In addition to equipping young people with employable skills through online courses and short-term associate degree programs, President Alvi emphasized the need to promote skills-based education in Pakistan.

He said he has always appealed to stakeholders to produce more skilled graduates, invest in emerging technologies, make decisions faster, and implement policies in the IT sector in a timely manner.

He said that AI-based solutions could also help provide personalized education and lessons to Pakistan’s approximately 27 million out-of-school children, but would otherwise be enormous. Said it would consume time and resources.

The delegation briefed the President on the Artificial Intelligence Education Foundation (AIEF), which aims to promote AI-based industrial solutions at scale. The delegation also highlighted the diverse applications of AI and its benefits for different sectors of the economy.

President Alvi appreciated AIEF’s promotion of AI in Pakistan in collaboration with local universities, and urged them to expand their scope and scope of activities.
