The Tesla founder shared an AI-generated video featuring a fake version of Sweeney to demonstrate the power of xAI’s Grok Imagine, the text-to-video conversion feature of the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Grok’s video is now 10 seconds long and the audio has improved significantly,” the former DOGE leader wrote Wednesday morning.

This video features an AI recreation of Sweeney. “So let me get this straight: Grok video is now 10 seconds long and the audio is much improved?”

Her male “co-star” then replied, “Yeah, pretty much…do you like it?”

This clip was generated by user Alex Patrascu using the following prompt: “Over-the-shoulder shot. Live-action movie. They’re placed inside a spaceship.” She shrugs, looks straight into his eyes, and says (in a calm, confused tone): “So let’s get this straight: Grok video is now 10 seconds, and the audio has improved a lot?” He says: “Yeah, pretty much…do you like it?” Hand-held shaking camera. Patrasque’s final prompt does not mention Sweeney by name, so it’s unclear why her likeness ended up appearing in the video.

The video was released just weeks after Musk was criticized for making bizarre comments about Sweeney’s body on “X.”

Grok Imagine was released in July 2025 with a “spicy” mode that allows users to generate NSFW images featuring nudity and sexually explicit content.

Earlier this month, California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that his office had begun an investigation into the “nonconsensual dissemination of sexually explicit content” produced by Grok.

“The volume of reports detailing the non-consensual and sexually explicit content produced and posted online by xAI in recent weeks is shocking,” Bonta said in a press release. “This material, which depicts women and children naked in sexually explicit situations, is being used to harass people on the internet. I urge xAI to take immediate action to ensure this does not happen again.”

Shortly after, X’s official safety account announced that it would restrict users from creating sexually explicit images of real people in areas where such material is illegal. “In jurisdictions where such content is illegal, we will geo-block Grok on X from generating images of real-life people in bikinis, underwear, and similar clothing for all users in those regions. xAI is implementing similar geo-blocking measures for the Grok app,” the company announced.

But as of Monday, the platform still allowed users to use Grok to undress real people, a CBS News investigation found.

Earlier this week, the European Union announced its own investigation into X’s possible violations of digital services laws. “The new investigation will assess whether the company adequately assessed and mitigated the risks associated with introducing Grok’s functionality to X in the EU,” the European Commission said in a press release. “This includes the risks associated with the distribution of illegal content within the EU, such as manipulated sexually explicit images, including content that may constitute child sexual abuse.”
