According to the study, integrating artificial intelligence with drone technology can enhance capabilities, efficiency and operational intelligence, including autonomous navigation, real-time data processing and advanced analytics.
A recent survey conducted by NexGen Exhibitions, organisers of the Drone International Expo, revealed that India's AI mission will significantly boost the growth of the country's drone sector, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

The survey was conducted among over 150 drone manufacturing and service providing companies across 11 cities – Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Gurugram and Coimbatore.
He further highlighted India's potential to become a global leader in drone technology and innovation and outlined the current trends, challenges and future opportunities in the Indian drone sector.

“The integration of AI and drone technology can enhance capabilities, efficiency and operational intelligence, including autonomous navigation, real-time data processing and advanced analytics,” the company said.
The survey highlighted the government's efforts to build a strong domestic manufacturing ecosystem.
“The India AI Mission and other favorable government policies will be a game changer for the Indian drone industry,” Aadar Bansal, director, NexGen Exhibitions, said in a statement.
“By fostering a supportive environment for innovation and domestic manufacturing, India is well on its way to becoming a leader in the global drone market,” Bansal added.
Participating companies see the favourable policies of the past few years as a positive step towards self-reliance and are hopeful of a surge in domestic manufacturing capacity and job creation in the industry.
The study noted that the Indian drone industry needs to focus on certain technological innovations to compete with global players.
Drone International Expo 2024, to be held in the national capital from July 4-5, is India's only and longest running exhibition dedicated to drones, counter-drone, LiDAR, geospatial and unmanned systems (land and water), AI and other futuristic technologies.
Along with leading Indian companies and emerging brands, international manufacturers and global leaders in drones, counter-drone systems, drone components and software companies are also expected to participate in the expo.
