Bedrock Data has expanded its leadership team with three new vice presidents, aiming to expand its go-to-market execution as enterprises demand for data security and AI governance increases. The Menlo Park-based company has appointed John Engler as vice president of sales, Brian Liberator as vice president of finance and operations, and John Coyle as vice president of business development.
This hire follows Bedrock Data's recently announced $25 million Series A funding round led by Greylock Partners and is aimed at strengthening the company's ability to serve large enterprises that are simultaneously protecting sensitive data and accelerating AI adoption. Bedrock Data positions its products as a modern platform for data security posture management with a focus on data-centric security, governance, and management across private clouds, infrastructure, platforms, software-as-a-service, and AI environments.
Bruno Kurtic, CEO and co-founder of Bedrock Data, said the appointment is aimed at executing the company's next phase of growth and highlights the need to meet enterprise demands for data security and responsible AI. The company said Mr. Engler will focus on expanding the enterprise sales organization and aligning customer feedback with product priorities, Mr. Liberator will lead operational rigor as the company grows, and Mr. Coyle will expand strategic partnerships across software vendors, channels and system integrators.
Mr. Engler joins Bedrock Data with experience as an enterprise sales leader at AppDynamics and Cisco, most recently at Augment Code, where he helped build go-to-market capabilities and drive significant early revenue growth. He also spent three years at Sutter Hill Ventures advising founders on go-to-market strategy and scaling.
Liberator brings a background spanning finance, operations, and strategic initiatives at high-growth technology companies. He most recently served as Chief of Staff and Vice President of Business Operations and Strategic Initiatives at Sumo Logic, where he led cross-functional initiatives and played a central role in the company's 2020 IPO. Previous work includes work at PagerDuty and Duo Security in IPO preparation and liquidity event preparation, as well as previous experience at Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Coyle joins the company with more than 20 years of experience across security, DevOps, and enterprise software. Bedrock Data said he will lead channels and strategic partnerships to expand market reach. Most recently, he served as SVP at Sumo Logic, where he helped grow strategic partnerships and led multiple acquisitions. Previous experience includes sales leadership at Sauce Labs, roles across Symantec and Opera Software, and financial experience in investment banking and equity research.
The company said this leadership expansion comes on the heels of the launch of ArgusAI, a product designed to extend governance to AI systems. According to Bedrock Data, ArgusAI uses data bill of materials and guardrail gap analysis to help enterprises understand what data their AI models and agents access during training and inference.
Bedrock Data says its platform discovers, categorizes and contextualizes data in the right place, without moving it outside the customer's boundaries. It is powered by a patented Metadata Lake and Serverless Outpost architecture, and the company says its API-first design supports natural language policy enforcement, AI governance, and automated remediation at enterprise scale.
