Cognizant partners with Uniphore to develop industry-specific AI solutions

AI For Business

Cognizant, a Teaneck-based professional services firm that helps clients modernize their technology, announced a strategic partnership with Uniphore, a provider of enterprise AI solutions for businesses.

The partnership will focus on jointly developing industry-specific AI solutions that combine small-scale language models, AI agents, and deep industry expertise.

The goal of this collaboration is to help enterprises deploy targeted, manageable AI capabilities that fit into real-world business workflows and turn AI into a permanent part of business operations.

The partnership will use Uniphore’s Business AI Cloud, designed to unify enterprise data, knowledge, models, and AI agents with built-in security and governance, as the foundation for building and fine-tuning small language models (SLMs), with Cognizant leading solution development, deployment, and client delivery.

Together, the companies aim to help companies codify their institutional knowledge and operational context and apply AI in ways that align with regulatory, operational, and business requirements.

Ravi Kumar S., Chief Executive Officer of Cognizant, said: “Our clients want AI that is designed for their business and incorporates the critical operational context needed to deliver business outcomes and value from AI.”

“By combining domain-specific SLM developed on Uniphore’s Business AI Cloud with AI agents managed on Cognizant’s platform, this partnership aims to incorporate our industry expertise into a solution that is practical, manageable, and operational at scale.”

Under this partnership, Cognizant and Unifor will jointly develop the first set of solutions for life sciences, banking and capital markets.

Each solution combines domain-specific SLM with pre-built AI agents designed to support specific industry workflows, such as drug discovery and commercial impact in life sciences, customer onboarding, and operational decision-making in banking and capital markets, where accuracy, governance, and domain context are critical.

The solution is intended to be repeatable and scalable, enabling rapid deployment across clients and geographies.

“The world’s largest enterprises are ready to deploy AI to have real business impact. To do so, they need systems purpose-built for their most critical workflows,” said Umesh Sachdev, CEO and co-founder of Uniphore.

“Our partnership with Cognizant allows us to combine Uniphore’s business AI platform embedded across the business stack with deep industry expertise to deliver secure, scalable solutions designed for real enterprise execution.”

This partnership follows the expansion of Cognizant’s global strategic alliance with Adobe to help businesses use generative AI to create, manage, and enhance content and customer experiences.
