AI can create software code quickly, but in critical sectors like defense, aerospace, and semiconductors, speed isn’t everything. Companies must ensure that the code is accurate and secure before using it.
There is growing concern about the gap between fast code generated by AI and the rigorous standards required by these critical industries. Boston-based software company Code Metal has raised $125 million in a Series B funding round, with a reported valuation of $1.25 billion.
The round was led by Salesforce Ventures with participation from Accel, B Capital, Smith Point Capital, J2 Ventures, Shield Capital, Overmatch, RTX and others. The new funding comes just months after the company’s Series A round.
“This new round of funding is an important milestone for Code Metal and validation of our mission to close the trust gap in AI-generated code. AI can generate code at unprecedented speeds, but in mission-critical environments, speed without evidence is not enough. We have built an infrastructure that ensures software can be trusted before deployment, and Salesforce With Ventures’ partnership and Ryan’s direct expertise with these customers, we are scaling to match the operational excellence this market demands,” said Peter Morales, Founder and CEO of Code. metal.
The funding will help Code Metal expand its engineering team, accelerate product development, expand partnerships with commercial and government customers, and strengthen its marketing strategy.
Verifiable code conversion
Founded by Peter Morales, Code Metal develops technology that transforms and optimizes software across programming languages and hardware systems, while validating that code meets required standards.
The company’s customers include Toshiba, RTX, L3Harris, and the US Air Force. These organizations use this platform to move software between systems and improve performance in high-stakes environments.
“AI code generation has reached an inflection point. Mission-critical industries cannot deploy what cannot be verified. Code Metal’s neurosymbolic approach solves this problem by mathematically proving that the code is correct,” Rob Keith, partner at Salesforce Ventures, said in a statement. Ventures brings deep experience scaling.” We are proud to support teams building the load-bearing infrastructure of this ecosystem. ”
