Microsoft announced Designer in October 2022. Reportedly built to rival Canva, the new tool helps users with graphic design and image creation. When Microsoft Designer launched, it had an interface similar to Canva.

The Designer Tool utilizes OpenAI’s text-to-image model DALL-E2 to conceptualize your design and offers a wide range of customization and personalization.
Powered by AI, Microsoft Designer simplifies your creative journey by providing an easy start, enhancing your creative workflow, and most importantly, helping you overcome creative obstacles. become
“Designer leverages cutting-edge generative AI technology to empower anyone with or without a design background to come up with new ideas, create unique, high-quality graphics in less time, and bring content to life. We help and empower you to level up,” read a blog post from Microsoft.
According to Microsoft, Designer is built to assist you at each stage of the creative process. Since its announcement in October, Microsoft says the tool’s AI model has been steadily improving, giving users greater control. Microsoft also provides a designer within the Microsoft Edge sidebar for inspiration while browsing the internet.
Today, users can try the extended public preview of Microsoft Designer for free by visiting the website or logging into their Microsoft account. A preview of Edge’s Designer has been rolled out to Edge and can be accessed from the sidebar by enabling it by clicking the “+” icon.
