How image generation works in Slides
With Slides’ AI image generation feature called “Help me Visualize”, you can create several different illustrations in just seconds based on your text prompts. Users can also choose a specific art style by prompting them to generate a specific type of image. Available styles are photos, illustrations, flat layouts, backgrounds, and clip art.
Based on your input, the AI loads a collection of visuals that you can embed in your presentation. Additionally, if the user doesn’t like any of these images, they can click “More” to generate another set of images for the same prompt.

AI capabilities to receive upgrades
In addition to adding a “visualization help” feature to Slides, we plan to extend the existing AI features in Gmail and Docs. According to 9to5Google, Gmail’s “Help me write” AI feature, which allows you to draft emails based on simple text prompts, will now be able to suggest context-based replies. Create context-specific suggested replies using previous messages received in an email thread.
Additionally, according to sources, the “Help me write” document will add smart chips and other variables to the body of AI-generated drafts. This helps users identify where they should enter a company name on a job application, for example.
