Bosun Tijani Foundation opens recruitment for Cohort 2 of AI Fellowship jobs

Applications of AI

The Bosun Tijani Foundation has formally invited applications for the second batch of its Generative AI (Gen AI) Fellowship, as part of its ongoing efforts to deepen talent and innovation in artificial intelligence across Nigeria.

Building on the foundation laid during the debut cohort, this fellowship is designed to provide early-stage builders, developers, and researchers with the hands-on, hands-on experience, mentorship, and resources needed to develop locally relevant AI solutions.

why is this important

Nigeria is stepping up its efforts to position itself as a central hub for artificial intelligence in Africa. Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has consistently championed initiatives aimed at developing technology talent, including the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program and the National AI Strategic Framework.

The Gen AI Fellowship complements these broader policy efforts by targeting specialized talent who can move beyond basic AI usage to building tools tailored to local and regional challenges.

What Selected Fellows Get

  • Technical Mentorship: Get expert guidance from AI researchers, engineers, and industry leaders.
  • Practical Building: Hands-on coursework and project tracks focused on large-scale language models (LLM), rapid engineering, fine-tuning, and deployment.
  • Network and Community: Connect directly to an active network of founders, tech peers, and tech ecosystem leaders.

Who should apply?

The objectives of the program are:

  • Early to mid-career developers and engineers who are passionate about specializing in generative AI.
  • Researchers and technical talent working on practical AI prototypes and products.
  • Construction companies looking to solve challenges in sectors such as education, fintech, healthcare, and public services.
