Thanks to a fellowship launched in Greenville and Columbia in September, there are new opportunities for those interested in launching careers in computer science and artificial intelligence engineering.
Bletchleigh Fellowship He was the creator of The CEO Peter Barth. Flatiron School It offers young adults who are the founder of Iron Yard and have recently graduated from high school and graduated from AI engineering apprentice, covering college costs.
program
This program is not costly for participants. The basic fellowship programme begins with 3.5 years and 4 months of immersive education. Clark Collegeprovides an intensive 100% remote learning experience.
In the next phase, the fellow will begin working part-time (20 hours a week) as an AI engineering apprentice, while continuing to study at university (approximately 20 hours a week). Fellows earned their degree in three years and then worked full-time as an apprentice for the past four months.
At that point, the Fellows have the option to start their own professional career, or stay for another 1.5 years on an apprentice while completing a master's degree in computer science or AI. Georgia Institute of Technology or UT Austin (both online) will win a scholarship of $2,000 per month during this additional phase.
Fellows also get the opportunity to pair with professional mentors and interact with peer fellows through access to collaborative/cooperative learning spaces – Switch yard Greenville or Soko In Colombia.
The educational portion of the program is online, but fellows will need to meet in person in either Greenville or Columbia for the apprenticeship portion.
“The goal of the fellowship is to create a pool of highly trained AI talent in South Carolina. “I think this model is a victory for both students, employers and the local economy.”
Applications for the first cohort of 24 fellows in September are now open. Additional cohorts will be released in January and June.
Bath said the number of slots depends on the number of apprentice opportunities the program can secure, but the goal is to secure 50 slots for each of the three annual cohorts and expand the program to other cities in the state.
