Career

Henkjean Huissmann We studied Delft's electrical engineering, specialized in medical imaging. After graduating he joined the Department of Radboudumc. In 1998 he received his PhD in a study on the analysis of liver tumor tissue using ultrasound (Title of the paper: In vivo ultrasound tissue characterization of liver metastases). In addition to his career at Radboudumc, Huisman holds positions nationally and internationally in a variety of academic institutions and businesses. From 2004 to 2010, he was a consultant for U-Systems in the United States. From 2021 to 2024, he worked as a professor of medical imaging AI at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Huisman is also a member of the AAPM Computer Aided Diagnostics Steering Committee and is a Taskforce 273 on CAD assessments, quality assurance and training papers. He is also a part of the ACR's PI-RADS Guidelines Committee on Prostate MRI AI.
