Anjali Kapoor has been appointed as the new director of BBC News AI, innovation and growth. In this role, Anjali will oversee AI adoption, lead the platform's off-form growth, and focus on optimizing BBC audiences and digital strategies for growth in the UK and globally.

Anjali brings a wealth of global experience and expertise. Strategic Senior Leadership Status in Globe and Mail, Yahoo! and Anjali of Bloomberg Media, recently director of Meta's Asia-Pacific Media Partnerships, partnering with media organizations to achieve strategic business goals centered on audience and revenue growth.

We promoted this role following the move to place all editorial news output under a single leader. You can give way to someone on your leadership team. The team includes existing digital development and growth, social and weather teams.

Most recently, Anjali is Meta's Media Partnerships Asia Pacific Director, and has partnered with media organizations to achieve strategic business goals for audience and revenue growth. She has also built and grown a robust third-party fact-check partnership program for meta across 14 markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Since leaving Meta, she has been based in Singapore, where she has consulted with business and media organization leaders on how to responsibly embed AI, impact it, and build sustainable model of audience growth.

From early editorial roles, Microsoft and Yahoo! From Bloomberg Media to senior leadership positions at Globe and Mail, Anjali drives innovation and audience-focused strategies in a complex, multi-platform newsroom.
