The astronomer, a provider of open source technology that was barely known until this week, said on Friday it began an investigation after CEO Andy Byron appeared in a video at a Coldplay concert in an intimate embrace with the company's relationship director.

“The board has launched a formal investigation into the issue, and there are additional details to share immediately,” the company said in a post on X.

“Our leaders are expected to set standards in both conduct and accountability,” the company said.

This post is the day after the video went viral on social media when Byron showed Byron on the big screen at a concert in Boston. Married Byron had his arms around Christine Cabot, the company's chief talent officer.

A few seconds after it was displayed on the big screen, the pair covered their faces and hidden them.

According to a Friday report from Axios, Byron and Cabot are on vacation.

Astronomers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In May, astronomers announced a $93 million investment round led by Bain Ventures and other investors. Salesforce Venture.

The company behind Astro, an open source data operations platform, moved its headquarters from Cincinnati, Ohio to New York last year.
