Mullah said the video was captioned and narrated in the manner that it “explicitly promotes fear and hatred towards Muslims and undermines the image of Congress leaders, especially Rahul Gandhi and Gaurav Gogoi.”
He argued that the video, which concluded with the words “I carefully chose your vote,” was made to plead with voters for future polls by the Bodoland Territory Council (BTRC).
“This is not an isolated incident, but we follow a similar video posted by the same social media handle on September 12th … and the spread of such content is particularly dangerous in the current context of the vulnerable cooperative fabric in Assam,” the complainant filed.
Bora urged police to conduct rapid investigations, including “forensic analysis of videos for device seizures from the BJP social media department.”
He also urged police to issue directives to authorities on social media platforms, quickly deleted the post under the IT Act of 2000, preventing further spread and notifying Assam's Election Commission of alleged MCC violations.
Police say they have received the complaint and will look into it before action is taken.
The Assam BJP has posted several videos on the “X” handle since Monday, claiming there is a threat from illegal immigrants in the state.
Reacting to the video, Gogoi said, “The words, actions and images generated by BJP IT cells do not have the strength to scratch the surface of Assamese society.”
He said that the proud Assam deserves a politician who helps the people of the nation reach new heights.
“Assam was raised by Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaldeva, Azan Piru, Swargadeo Siukafa, Rachit Bolfkan and Bhupen Hazarika. People with links to coal, bean leaves and drug smuggling do not draw Assam's mind. 'x'.
Congress leaders said his party wanted to “build a society of pilots, engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, bankers and business owners.”
“We want to see “bor” (great) Assam, where hard work surpasses hatred.
