Dubai: The UAE Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications has launched a charter for the development and use of Artificial Intelligence in the UAE, aimed at achieving the goals of the UAE's Artificial Intelligence Strategy. The launch of the charter reflects the leadership's vision to transform the UAE into a global hub for the development and adoption of AI solutions and applications across sectors.

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, stated that under the vision of its leadership, the UAE Government aims to make the UAE a global leader in AI by developing digital infrastructure and strengthening an integrated system that embraces AI across all critical sectors. This launch aims to provide a thriving environment in line with the highest standards of safety and privacy, and to increase societal trust in these applications.

The minister added that the UAE is a pioneer in raising awareness of the importance of AI and its applications. The country is stepping up efforts, accelerating work and strengthening global partnerships to set standards for the optimal use of AI technologies, thus best protecting the rights of individuals, users and communities, and facilitating the continued development of the UAE's digital environment.

The UAE Artificial Intelligence Development and Use Charter aims to establish robust principles and frameworks for the application of cutting-edge AI models, with a focus on strengthening the relationship between humans and machines. The Charter's principles include the importance of safety and fairness to provide a fair environment for society, ensuring the responsible development of AI technologies and ensuring their availability to all.

The Charter also includes principles to raise awareness in the field of AI, benefit from AI advances and ensure fair access to technology for all segments of society towards an inclusive future, as well as to comply with laws related to the development and use of AI.
