Artificial intelligence apps help online dating break the ice

Applications of AI

Artificial intelligence is here to help people who may possess desirable traits but aren’t necessarily adept at displaying the most attractive qualities in the fickle world of online dating.

In fact, those seeking romance and personal connection through dating apps can sift through hundreds of profiles at once, making those first impressions even more important. A new AI-powered app is here to help anyone who wants to grab the attention of their prospects.

Apps like Rizz and Keys, for example, are AI-powered texting coaches designed to act like digital wingmen. A simple “hello” may be an acceptable way to directly approach someone you’re attracted to, but such greetings online are unlikely to elicit a response.

Rizz allows users to upload photos and screenshots of online dating chats and bios, and instantly generate opening lines. Users can even ask apps like Rizz to make their replies funny, witty, or romantic.

Psychologist and dating coach Holly Batty told CBS News: “Essentially, we are helping users create content and suggesting conversation starters.”

“Generative” AI technology Like ChatGPT has already permeated other parts of our lives and has proven that it can help eliminate, or at least reduce, the time we spend on monotonous and repetitive tasks. It turns out that there is an application that is useful in this era.

Of course, once your date comes out from behind the screen, you need to be able to hold yourself in person. Those who turn out to be glittery conversations generated may also be disappointed.

“They will feel that gap in the same way that online photos misrepresent themselves,” Battey said.

“I think people need to be prepared for that,” she added.

But for those struggling with conversational ice breakers, AI could be a powerful tool to overcome the hurdles of redoing online dating. For example, “Personality may not be reflected in writing, so you may end up in the red there,” says Battey.

“Some people really need help. They don’t know what to write on their dating profile. They don’t know how to start a conversation via text or message. That’s why they need a tool like this to get them started,” she said.
