AI Accurately Analyzes Cardiac Disease
AI can now accurately analyze heart disease, according to a JMIR Cardio report. This study focused on AI’s ability to assist clinical decision-making by analyzing coronary angiography and comparing the results to intravascular ultrasound to validate its performance.

Researchers have found that AI-based technology enables accurate and consistent measurements of coronary stenotic lesions similar to ultrasound. The researchers say these findings suggest that AI can be safely used in clinical settings.
AI beats doctors when it comes to predicting readmissions
A study in Nature found that large-scale linguistic AI tools had a median accuracy of 77.8% in identifying patients in need of intervention to reduce readmissions, compared to 62.8% for physicians.
The researchers used the model in combination with fine-tuning based on a small sample of local data to improve accuracy. The same team of researchers also developed algorithms that can predict length of stay, likelihood of in-hospital death, and likelihood of claim denial.
