Without the BJP, the video, generated using artificial intelligence (AI) by the state division of Assam's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, depicting the majority of Muslims, sparked a political line with the Congress party who decides to file a police complaint on Thursday.
The BJP defended the video distributed to the party's social media handle on Monday to demonstrate the threat posed by illegal immigration, but the opposition assembly has decided to file a police complaint to show the MP and party's state chief Gaurav Gogoi on the video.
“The words, actions and images produced by the BJP IT Cell do not even have the power to hurt the surface of Assamese society… Assam's pride and greatness deserves politicians who help Assam's people reach new heights,” Gogoi posted on X on Wednesday.

“We want to build a society of pilots, engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, bankers and business owners. It is important that hard work wins hatred (the bigger) Assam wins hubris, democracy crushes dictatorship and everyone is treated with respect,” he added.
The release by the Congressional Media Division said it would submit an FIR to Assam BJP on Thursday to “post joint videos on social media targeting the (state) president and party.”
The video was released ahead of the September 22 election to the Bodoland Territory Council (BTC), which runs management in four districts, with the catchphrase “We cannot make this Paijaan dream true.”
Assam's parliamentary elections are scheduled for April to May next year.
Paijaan is a term coined by the state's BJP for Gogoi and has accused Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Salma of being closely linked to Pakistan since February this year.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed to investigate alleged links between Congressional leaders and neighboring countries, submitted its report to Salma this month. The content has not been published yet.
Defending the BJP video, Cabinet Minister Pijushhazarika said on Wednesday that he was not targeting all Muslims in Assam, but presented a scenario in which undocumented migrants (from Bangladesh) could change the demographics of the nation.
“This video clearly spoke about the threat of illegal immigration that is changing the demographics of Assam, but soon these “advocates of secularism” cried out Islamophobia! ” he posted to X.
“If their logic is to talk about illegal immigration = Islamophobia, then perhaps they themselves are not suggesting that all Muslims are illegal immigrants?
