Media reports cited law enforcement officials as claiming that the viral clip was generated by AI, while warning against violating personal privacy and sharing fake/AI-generated content on social media platforms.
“This 19-minute viral video has been generated by AI,” a police officer reportedly said, warning netizens that sharing explicit MMS clips could invite legal repercussions under relevant sections of the IT Act.
“Sharing someone's private video, fake video or AI-generated video can attract legal action under Sections 67, 67A and 66 of the IT Act, which can lead to imprisonment and heavy fines. Violating someone's privacy and sharing explicit videos without their consent is a crime,” the officer added.
