Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar opposed the fake video circulating online that falsely shows him playing the role of Maharishi Valmiki in the film trailer. The video, created using artificial intelligence (AI), caused confusion among fans, prompting the actors to clarify the truth about X (formerly Twitter).
In his post, Akshay stated clearly: “I recently came across an AI-generated video for the film trailer that shows me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to make it clear that all such videos are made with fakes using AI.” He also criticized several news channels for sharing these clips without proper fact checking. “What's worse is that some news channels have decided to pick them up as 'news' without checking if they're real or changing. ”
Akshay urged both the media house and the public to be careful, especially while sharing or believing content online, as AI tools are used to create misleading videos at high speed. His statement comes when content generated in AI is becoming increasingly common and difficult to detect.
