AJ Lee returned to WWE on September 5, 2025, shocking the professional wrestling world. Although his on-screen appearances have been limited, AJ has been making the rounds, meeting fans at expos, and attending other events.
As one of these appearances, she attended this month’s big event NY Expo and shared online the great time she had meeting with fans and the numerous gifts given to her by her fanbase.
However, a fan who met her posted an AI-generated video of herself and AJ Lee kissing at a handshake event, and received backlash.
AJ himself then saw the tweet and replied, “This is inappropriate and harassing. Please delete it.”

Instead of deleting the post, User X doubled down on his post and agreed with another user who suggested it was flattering. In response, countless other users slammed both of them.
Wrestlers face problems with fans
Sadly, AJ Lee isn’t the first or last wrestler to have issues like this with fans. And it is primarily female wrestlers who have to bear the brunt of the horrifying and downright disgusting behavior that a small fan base engages in, both in person and online.
Just recently, Roxanne Perez had to deal with people on social media spreading AI-generated images of herself, which she reported were fake and “very weird.”
Like Rhea Ripley, there are countless other examples of fans getting too comfortable and having to react inappropriately. For example, she revealed that a fan came to her house on Valentine’s Day and stood in front of her door for several minutes.

Names like CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have taken to social media to warn fans. Earlier this year, Punk posted an Instagram story that simply read, “Please stop touching strangers. Please.” This comes after an incident in France in which Rhea Ripley was surrounded by fans seeking photos and autographs.
After a long hiatus from television, AJ Lee returned to Monday Night Raw and distracted Becky Lynch during her Women’s Intercontinental Title match against Maxine Dupri, costing Lynch the title. On social media, Lynch has been doing everything he can to get his title back. It’s not yet clear what the plans are between AJ Lee and Becky Lynch.
