Biker Amit Yadav claimed that after the accident on Nagpur-Jabalpur National Highway on August 9, no one came to his aid and he was forced to tie his wife's body to the bike.
However, officers now arrested the driver behind the hit-and-run accident with the help of artificial intelligence.
How AI helped crack cases
According to the PTI report, Deolapar police used AI-Marvel (Vire for Maharashtra Advanced Research and Wordancted Law Enforcement) to scan footage from various CCTV cameras. It is designed to assist police investigations.
“We analyzed four hours of footage from three fee Nakas using an AI algorithm developed at Marvel. The first algorithm sifted through all the red tracks, while the second algorithm performed speed-based calculations for these tracks to determine which tracks were involved. Express.
“The driver was subsequently identified as Satyapal Rajendra (28), a resident of Farhabad, Uttar Pradesh. The truck was locked up on August 16th and the accused was arrested,” the police officer told the press agency PTI.
